With only 29.2Km/18.1Mi of competitive stages on the final day of Rally Poland, Ogier had just two passes of SS Baranowo to notch up another championship round win.
Thierry Neuville’s Hyundai i20 took a spectacular tumble 1km from the finish line but was able to finish the stage when the car suffered only cosmetic damage and landing right side up.

Ogier continued to lead Mikkelsen by 8.1sec with Tanak in third 14.8sec further back. Latvala was right on his heels so baring an incident there was still hope of a Volkswagen clean sweep of the event.
Latvala pushed to make up time on Tanak but spun crashing into a tree and losing 20sec but sadly his dramas didn’t end there. Latvala was forced to retire due to overheating with a broken radiator.
This finished his hopes of a podium finish as he slipped to fifth bumping Paddon into fourth and handing Tanak his first WRC podium finish.
The final results for the event where as follows.
1. OGIER 2:26:11.5
2. MIKKELSEN +11.9
3. TANAK +11.1
In the end only 30sec separated the Top 3 after almost 300km of competitive stages.
The Championship ladder is unchanged however Ogier has increased his lead ever so slightly.
1. Sébastien Ogier 161
2. Andreas Mikkelsen 83
3. Mads Østberg 69
4. Jari-Matti Latvala 66
5. Thierry Neuville 58
6. Kris Meeke 53
7. Elfyn Evans 53
8. Hayden Paddon 44
9. Ott Tanak 40
10. Dani Sordo 39
With just six rounds let in the 2015 Championship, Ogier only needs to finish fourth in the remaining events to claim his third world championship in a row and a three peat for Volkswagen Motorsport.
