A spectacular sunrise across Mt Panaroma greeted teams and fans for the second day of action in Bathurst.

Breaking News (Chaz Mostert Accident)

Qualifying was abandoned just a few minutes into the session after the No. 6 Pepsi Max Crew Ford of Chaz Mostert was involved in a massive crash at Forrest Elbow. Mostert carrying a lot of speed in the accident hit the flag point entering the Elbow. Mostert suffered a broken arm and leg in the horrific accident ruling him out for Sunday’s race.

Five flag marshals were also injured during the incident, four with minor injuries while the fifth has been taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Overnight News

There was a big news overnight, with David Reynolds of Bottle-O Racing receiving a $25000 fine for derogatory remarks he made against Prodrive Racing Australia teammates Renee Gracie and Simone De Silvestro.

In better news however, the Nissan Motorsport crew were able to repair the Jack Daniel’s Alitma of Rick Kelly and David Russell overnight, having the car back on track for the first practice session of the day.

Practice 4

The fourth practice session of the weekend kicked off today’s action with the co-drivers receiving another 45 minute session to get up to speed with the Mt Panorama circuit.

It was a trouble free session with the co-drivers matching the pace that their more experience partners had set on Thursday afternoon. Cameron Waters proved to be fastest for Prodrive Racing Australia/Pepsi Max Crew with a stunning time of 2:05.7220.
