MyDrive | Automobili Lamborghini – Sant’Agata Bolognese. This week two-time MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner took to the Italian Vallelunga circuit to drive the newly developed Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo.

Stoner is no stranger to the world of four wheel racing after his successful stint with the Australia V8 Supercars race category a number of years ago.

Meeting with Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann, Stoner test drove the new Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 before being welcomed by the Squadra Corse team.

“not many people in the world will get this opportunity to run some laps with the Huracán Super Trofeo”

The new Super Trofeo was being put through its paces at the Italian circuit to initiate new drivers participating in Lamborghini’s Young Drivers and GT3 Junior Programs.

Finding his rhythm behind the wheel of the 620 hp Italian race car, his lap times continued to improve on the 4.085 meter-long circuit.

“I have to say a big thank you to Automobili Lamborghini, not many people in the world will get this opportunity to run some laps with the Huracán Super Trofeo and get a feel of what a Lamborghini is like on the track” commented Stoner.

This is the first year that Lamborghini have switched to the Huracán LP 620-2 with Lamborghini stopping production of the previous Gallardo version.  The new race car features in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe, Asia and North America series.

Stoner also added that this may not be the last time he would drive the Huracán LP 620-2 stating, “It’s something I want to do again in the future” declared Stoner.
