Subaru Managing Director, Nick Senior, said: “Levorg is an exciting yet superior all-new sports wagon package that combines turbocharged driving performance, nimble handling, safety and versatility in an optimal body size.

“It’s innovative and embodies both sports and touring performance.”

Mr Senior said Levorg is the spiritual successor to fourth generation turbocharged Liberty GT wagon in size.

“The fourth generation was the most successful and endearing Liberty wagon and we’ve had many customers asking for a worthy replacement since we stopped producing it.

“The new Levorg is that replacement – it’s as endearing as a fourth gen, but modernised and built to take advantage of new production technology that gives heaps of internal space.

“It is a testament to modern design that although the Levorg is slightly smaller externally than a gen 4 Liberty, it has 27 cubic litres more of carrying capacity with five passengers.”

Levorg has the same external width as fifth generation Liberty.

Mr Senior added: “It’s an exotic mix combining wagon utility – wide cabin space and comfort, and a sense of security – with the handling, dynamic performance and style of a sports car.”

Every Levorg has an independent high five-star rating for occupant safety from the respected Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), in line with the entire Subaru new car range in Australia.

Levorg is Subaru’s first all-new model since BRZ launched in 2012.

Levorg’s flowing silhouette and frontal design incorporate the classic Subaru motifs of the hexagonal grille and hawk eye LED headlights.

The sports wagon’s finely chiselled face achieves a sharp and sporty style, with the air scoop hinting at Levorg’s turbocharged power within.

The front bumper edges and bottom section are designed for optimum aerodynamic performance.

Front indicators and fog lights feature chrome-style apertures.

Sporty side sills also add to Levorg’s visual appeal.

Despite its sporty low stance, cargo space inside is not compromised and is comparable to Liberty.

Every Levorg features a rear spoiler, colour-coded shark-fin antenna, matte-black rear diffuser and dual exhausts, adding to the cohesive design.

Door mounted wing mirrors reduce driver blind spots and wind noise.

All variants feature welcome lighting. When approaching the vehicle, the interior lighting turns on to help guide occupants to the vehicle.

Levorg 2.0GT-S and 2.0GT-S Spec B have an electric sunroof with tilt up function.

The grille on Levorg 2.0GT is distinguished by dark metal paint finish and 2.0GT-S by black paint. Both feature chrome-type surround.

Headlights in Levorg 2.0GT-S feature black highlight surrounds, and silver in 2.0GT.

Levorg features 18-inch alloy wheel patterns unique to each variant – silver high gloss in 2.0-GT, dark gray high gloss on 2.0GT-S.

The optional 2.0 GT-S Spec B exterior add-ons are:

  • STI front spoiler
  • STI side spoiler
  • STI rear under spoiler
  • STI rear side under spoiler
  • STI 18-inch black alloy wheels
  • STI front tower bar
  • STI roof end spoiler

Every Levorg features daytime running lights and keyless entry.

  • Crystal White Pearl
  • Ice Silver Metallic
  • Dark Gray Metallic
  • Crystal Black Silica
  • Pure Red
  • Steel Blue Gray Metallic
  • Lapis Blue Metallic

While exterior height is low, the wheel base, length and width all maximise interior space, particularly in the rear seat.

The A-pillar base is designed to optimise space between the front seats and the windscreen, increasing the sense of spaciousness.

The upper part of the instrument panel is low, without sacrificing operation of switches and visibility. This helps create a great field-of-vision and reduces blind spots when turning.

Soft-touch interior trim features throughout the cabin.

The sport D-shaped steering wheel enables easy visibility of the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) located in the centre of the instrument panel, and the luminescent gauges.

A Multi-Function Display (MFD) in the dashboard centre offers a wide variety of information including fuel efficiency.

Supportive bucket-type sporty front seats in the 2.0GT-S underline Levorg’s fun driving characteristics.

The power window system includes motors positioned in the lower part of the door, enabling increased shoulder and elbow space.

The back side of the front seats is curved into an inverse shape, offering generous knee space for rear seat occupants.

Levorg’s high quality interior is reflected in metallic and high gloss black trim cabin highlights.

The open storage area in front of the gear shifter offers single AUX and USB ports in 2.0GT and adds an extra USB port in 2.0GT-S.

Front door hinges are titled forward for easy opening and the sash pushed further away, for good overhead clearance.

A sound insulating “inter-layer” is incorporated into the door glass, reducing high frequency sound in the cabin when accelerating.

Despite relatively compact exterior dimensions, Levorg offers a cavernous, flexible cargo area on a par with fifth (previous) generation Liberty.

There are separate left and right rear reading lights.

Rear seat passengers have access to two USB power charger ports. A 12 Volt power socket is also located inside the centre console, as well as in front of the gear shifter.

Levorg 2.0GT-S interior is distinguished by blue stitching, including leather trim seats, steering wheel, gear shifter and centre console.

Rear doors feature privacy glass.

Front door sills sport a Subaru-branded stainless steel scuff plate.

Helping reduce Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) around the cabin, Thinsulate material is used in a variety of strategic locations, including pillars, door, roof trims and cargo area.

Every Levorg features dual zone fully automatic climate control air conditioning.

Levorg 2.0GT-S adds two driver’s seat memory functions, plus heated front seats.

All variants have reclining split/fold rear seats.

Inside, the local option 2.0GT-S Spec B adds:

  • STI shift knob
  • STI red push button start
